Meet the Crew
Every good bottle has a story, and ours starts with the people pouring it. The folks behind our tasting room bar are equal parts hosts, storytellers and shameless enthusiasts, here to guide you through what's in your glass and why it's worth a second sip.
They know the vineyards, they know the vintages, and they know exactly when to refill. Consider them your compass for the afternoon. Pull up a stool and let them show you around.
Dianne Brisbine
Dianne is a wine enthusiast who turns every trip into a tasting adventure, chasing new wines and wine regions around the world. She's been part of Genoa Cellars since 2013, and still talks about the 2009 Boom, one of the best vintages we've ever poured. She loves working alongside the crew and connecting with members and guests in the tasting room.
Jane Mangers
Jane retired from State Farm Insurance and calls Queen Anne home. Beyond her love of wine, she's always up for traveling, golfing, live music, or catching a game. She brings that same easygoing, social energy to the tasting room, always ready with a good story or a wine recommendation. When she's not pouring at Genoa, she's out enjoying time with friends.
Dana Welter
Dana is a Speech-Language Pathologist who spends her weekends and events pouring at Genoa, part of the crew since 2016. When she's not working, she's a novelist, writing speech therapy books alongside a good charcuterie board and a movie with her dogs. She also loves traveling and discovering wines from different regions. Boom holds a special place in her heart, so much that it was the official wine at her wedding.
Mike Klinicke
Mike had been retired for a couple years when a friend at Genoa Cellars suggested he might as well come pour some wine since he wasn't doing anything else, and the friend was right. Mike started in 2018 and hasn't looked back since. He still can't pick a favorite between Traveler and Crosswind, so most days it's whichever one wins the coin toss.
Kelly Morrison
Kelly was introduced to Genoa Cellars during a wine trip to Tuscany, where a private tasting led to an invitation to join the crew. She came aboard in January 2020, and her favorite part of the job has been building relationships, from longtime members to first time visitors. You'll usually find her pouring at events or in the tasting room on weekends.
Jana Lund
Before joining the crew, Jana was a Genoa wine club member. A fan of Tuscan style wines since the early 2000s, she has explored Washington's wine country trail, from Prosser to Red Mountain to the Rattlesnake Hills AVA. Joining Genoa was an easy choice, since she loves every varietal we pour. Mainstay is a favorite, a true Sangiovese that never disappoints.
Elizabeth Nunes
Elizabeth is wrapping up her third year on our crew. After retiring as an elementary principal, she wanted something completely different, and pouring wine turned out to be exactly that. She loves meeting guests and connecting with Wine Club members. She's a Cab girl through and through, and Boom remains one of her all-time favorites at Genoa.
Maria Castle
Maria has been with Genoa for over four years, and loves talking wine with club members and new visitors alike. One of her favorite days was a special tasting where the team poured Genoa's Tuscan reds alongside wines from Italy for a fun side by side comparison. She's still learning something new about wine every day at the tasting room.
